Opinion is accepted that Richard Cantillon was born in the townland of Ballyronan in Ballyheigue, a beautiful seaside town with a breathtaking sandy beach, North of Tralee. The 2010 Cantillon Cultural Trail during this year’s School will visit Ballyheigue on the 8th September, on the town’s Pattern Day where atmosphere and excitement is promised in abundance.


Tralee is Kerry’s capital town and boasts all the facilities of a modern tourist destination. It is set against the backdrop of the beautiful Sliabh Mish Mountains, a haven for artists and a paradise for walkers. The town boasts Siamsa Tire and the National Folk Theatre, Tralee Aquadome, Kerry County Museum, Blennerville Windmill & Steam Train among so many other attractions.
